Training Bookings

At the time of booking, a non-refundable deposit of £50 for one day courses is required, and £100 for courses taken over more than one day. The balance for the course is due for payment 7 days prior to commencement of the course. If the course is booked 7 days or less prior to commencement of the course, the total amount will be due at the time of booking. Should a balance due remain outstanding after the due date, Olivia Rogers reserve the right to retain the deposit and cancel the course booking.

The numbers required for a course to run are published on the relevant course page of the website. Should the required number of students attending any of the courses not be reached, the relevant course will be cancelled and the student offered a place on the next available date(s) for that course. Olivia Rogers is not responsible for any costs or inconvenience incurred by the student due to cancellation of courses due to lack of numbers. This applies to all courses that are subject to numbers.

Where an assessment is required in order to complete the course and gain a diploma, students must attend for said assessment on the agreed date and time with an appropriate model. If for any reason the student is unable to attend on the agreed date and wishes to re-book an assessment, a fee of £30 is payable in advance at the time of re-booking. If a student fails to attend for an assessment during the 8 weeks after attending a course, then a diploma will not be issued and the course will not be acknowledged by Olivia Rogers as completed. Students can return to re-take their training if necessary at the normal cost.

At the time of booking, students will be asked if they wish to purchase the appropriate training manual. Payment for this will be included in the final balance payment. Should a student request a manual on the day of training it will be forwarded to them by Royal Mail and an administration/postage charge of £2 will be added to the cost of the manual.

Olivia Rogers will only accept cancellation notifications or requests for changes of course dates not later than seven working days prior to commencement of the course. Cancellation or request for change may be made by telephone in the first instance, but will not be deemed to be made unless confirmed either by letter or email to be received by us within the proscribed timescale (7 days). Any cancellation/change request made by text will be deemed not to have been made. Cancellation less then 7 days prior to attendance in the manner aforesaid or non-attendance of a course will result in the full amount of the course payment to be due.

If a request for change of date of course is made at any time up to 7 days prior to attending and a new date is agreed with the student by Olivia Rogers, an administration fee of £30 will be payable by the student prior to attending the course on the revised date. Non-payment of this fee will result in the course being cancelled and the whole of the original course fee will be deemed due. If cancellation is made less than 7 days prior to attending, the whole course fee will be forfeit.

All communication with Olivia Rogers in respect of training must be made by email. Any communication regarding course changes/cancellation must be confirmed in writing or by email by the student within the timescale set out above.

In the unlikely event of our having to cancel a course, a mutually convenient date and time will be agreed with the student at no extra charge other than the original cost of the course. No liability will be accepted for any costs incurred by the student due to a course cancellation by ourselves.

How To Pay For Your Course

Payment is accepted by cheque or cash. All cheque payments must clear before training commences. Olivia Rogers does not offer credit facilities.

Provision Of Models

With some courses, a model is required in order to perform the treatment. It is the sole responsibility of the student to provide a model suitable for the treatment they are to undergo and the suitability is explained fully at the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the model provided is suitable for the treatment delivered.

Student Information

In line with health and safety policy all students attending should either wear their salon uniform or suitable practical, comfortable clothing. Covered flat shoes should be worn at all times. Hair should be tied back from the face, and minimal jewellery (if any) worn.

Students should ensure that they attend for courses at the appointed time. Students will need to bring a notepad and pen with them on day(s) of training. Should a student be delayed for any reason such as weather conditions or traffic conditions, they should make every effort to contact us to advise a later arrival. We reserve the right to commence the training course at the allotted time if all students are not present.

It is the sole responsibility of the student to inform us of any allergy or prior medical condition that they are suffering/could suffer from that may preclude them from commencing or continuing training with us. If a student commences training but is unable to continue due to a pre-existing condition or allergy, we reserve the right to curtail training and retain the training fee.

Smoking is not allowed on the premises, nor on the exterior part of the property which includes the car parking area.

The use of mobile phones during training sessions is prohibited. All mobiles are to be switched off or be in “silent” mode during training.

Olivia Rogers reserves the right to cancel a course where a student’s model is in the first trimester of pregnancy, presents skin or nail disorders, recent scarring (where appropriate), grommets (where appropriate) or any contra-indication preventing treatment in such circumstances.

No model should be in the first trimester of pregnancy.

All manicure and pedicure models should attend without polish or overlays on their fingers and toes.

All facial models should attend without make-up.

Models for Indian head massage should ideally not have very long hair, and it should not be plaited. No hair extensions.

All spray tanning models should exfoliate prior to attending, have not applied either make-up or moisturiser to the face or body. They should have either waxed or shaved at least 24 hours prior to treatment, and should not have had brow or lash tints at least 24 hours prior to treatment. They should not have had botox or treatments where the skin has been punctured within the preceding 48 hours. Loose, dark clothing should be worn.

Models for warm waxing treatments must demonstrate at least one quarter of an inch hair growth on the leg, underarm and bikini line. Olivia Rogers are prepared to use discretion with regard to lip and chin, but the model should be made aware that these areas must be covered by the student as part of the training. Olivia Rogers reserve the right to curtail the training should the model demonstrate either insufficient hair growth or volume to enable the student to carry out training satisfactorily and under these circumstances the fee will be forfeit and no certificate issued.

Models for intimate waxing must be female and must demonstrate at least one quarter of an inch hair growth in the appropriate area. The model must not be menstruating or have any form of discharge/infection. It will already have been made clear to the student that this course is designed for students already experienced in warm wax procedures. Should the student demonstrate that this is not the case, or the model demonstrate either insufficient hair growth or volume of hair, Olivia Rogers reserves the right to curtail the training, the fee will be forfeit and no certificate issued.

It is the responsibility of the student to ensure any certificate awarded is not lost, stolen or destroyed as replacements cannot be issued.
